NU-ITS AI Resource Center
NU ITS is working collaboratively with academic leadership on each campus to align AI solutions to broader organizational goals. While we bring a depth of expertise in technology, we understand that innovation thrives on collaboration. We aim to partner with faculty, staff, and students across NU to empower AI solutions in a way that amplifies their appropriate use and creates opportunities for efficiency across the organization. We recognize that AI is constantly evolving, and we are committed to staying at the forefront of these advancements in support of the University of µÚÒ»³Ô¹ÏÍø community.
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is an emerging capability in many digital tools and services. Generative AI is advancing with breathtaking speed and can drive innovation and opportunity within higher education.
The NU-ITS AI Resource Center page is intended to provide clear, understandable, insights into what these AI advancements might mean for you. This page can serve as a launchpad for information on emerging and available resources.
As we continue to investigate the abilities of AI features in our IT services, we are committed to providing transparent, user-friendly explanations and guidance. We aim to ensure that every member of the NU community can confidently navigate, use, and benefit from these advancements in technology.
Enterpise/EDU ChatGPT
The UNO, UNL and UNK campuses each have a limited number of licenses to campus enterprise/EDU environments of ChatGPT. Compared to free ChatGPT, enterprise GPT environments are targeted for large organizations needing advanced features/security options, do not use enterprise data for training, give us higher limits for things like file uploads, give us additional features such as custom GPTs, allow us to assign license access on timelines we determine locally (such as semesters), and are behind university single sign on. Each campus uses a request process for individuals to indicate that they would like to utilize a license. The request process also allows administrators to review intended use cases for risk and requires that a Bridge AI compliance training be completed before a license is provisioned. These licenses are intended for use in teaching, operations and research.
At this time, NU ITS is exploring the possibility of adding access to enterprise ChatGPT for a select number of UNMC users.Currently, however, this service is not available at UNMC. If Research Offices want to fund additional licenses of enterprise ChatGPT for their respective campus, our NU ITS team members would be happy to support expanded services.Ìý

The number of licenses available today corresponds to the amount of budget each campus has currently identified for this limited pilot of enterprise ChatGPT, and our pilot can fairly easily be scaled up if additional funds are identified.
